My Lord Eternity Immortal Rogues series Book 2 edition by Alexandra Ivy Paranormal Romance eBooks
If I'm not mistaken, I skipped the other two in favor of going on to the Guardians series. Now I remember why I did so. This series is the Author's original series, and it's apparent that her skills increased greatly in her following Guardians series. This series, although not bad, isn't of the same caliber. Think Regency or early Harlequin. For those of you too young to know what I mean.....HEA romances, gushy but no real sex, all of them similar but with different names and different locales. These books have very little paranormal. Or action. The premise is pretty shaky. Vamps no longer live with mortals--they live 'behind the veil'. Except for a few bad Vamps. The head Vamp has broken a powerful medallion in three pieces and given the pieces to human women. Say, what?
Don't get me wrong...if you enjoy a tamer and less explicit romance with a HEA, you may enjoy this. The books, like the older Regency books, take place in the Victorian age. But if you're looking for a Hot paranormal with some action.....look elsewhere.

My Lord Eternity Immortal Rogues series Book 2 edition by Alexandra Ivy Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
As a fan of the Immortal Rogues series, I was disappointed. It was apparently set in Victorian England, and Ms. Ivy was obviously uncomfortable and unfamiliar with the time period. The heroine was a caricature - a Victorian do-gooder - not a character, and the hero was a fun-loving vampire. If I wanted "fun-loving" heroes, I think I'd choose a different genre. Worse, every young woman in the story, most of whom were prostitutes, was referred to as a "maiden," as though this were a medieval romance, and the sheer incongruity kept jerking me out of the story to grit my teeth and wonder what in the world Ms. Ivy and her editor were thinking.
If you are like me, you loved the Guardian's of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. This book falls short of that series. It was good, but it was definitely lacking in the passion department. I would barely rate this PG13. If you like a tamer vampire series without lots of sex and vampires that aren't very aggressive, then this book is for you.
I have read all of Alexandra Ivy's books, with the exception of the remaining book in this series that has yet to be re- released, My Lord Immortality. This story was full of G-rated romance, but lacked in the suspense/ mystery department. There wasn't much build-up with the final confrontation and there really wasn't much going on with the villain until the end... it was all pretty cut and dry. I enjoyed the first half of the story because of the romance portion, but it went steadily downhill from there. There were no love scenes, only a lot of face touching and a few forehead and lip brushes. I love Alexandra Ivy's more erotic novels and the intimacies shared in them. In comparison to her newer books, this one was bland. It was a shame that there wasn't more intimacy involved because the hero and heroine had a lot of potential. I'll still buy the last in the series and recommend this one. AI is one of my favorite authors!
My bad - I should have paid more attention to the word "Rogues" in the parentheses. That word...along with the ever dreaded "rake"...is a big red flag for historical (hysterical) romance. I know there are many fans of this genre & if that's your thing - that's cool. It's just not mine. I find them tedious on a good day and incredibly boring on a bad one.
Sadly enough - I only finished the first chapter before moving on to better pursuits.
I really thought if I had to read another vamp book, I'd gouge my eyes out with an ice cream scoop. But I'm a fan of Ms. Ivy's so I decided to read the sample chapter. After one sample of My Lord Eternity I was on the hook. I had to find out what happened next.
What I loved best about this book was that neither the hero or the heroine is perfect. They don't each have one glaring flaw just to have a fatal flaw. They're multi-faceted and whole people, with hopes, dreams and mistakes they made trying to achieve those things.
I also really enjoyed that they had to accept each other as they were, faults and all. Their connection, their love and ultimately their happily ever after felt real and believable. It was a wonderful, compelling book.
I hate when a writer reissues a book and does not tell you that it is a reissue. This book is an early one in the author's career and one that is best passed. It is poorly written, lacks passion and has a terrible rushed ending. I thought there were more pages until I realized the rest were telling me about future novels one of which was this one. Doesn't anyone check these things? There were more pages to what was coming that what I read. This book was obviously not well thought out, quickly written and utterly useless as a vampire novel.
While the characters had potential, they lacked depth, passion and any sense of what they were doing. To top that off the writer had not research the Victoria era very well and created caricatures rather than people. Pass on this one.
Nowhere in the information on this book does it say, oh by the way, if this looks familiar, it's because you read it NINE YEARS AGO. I read too many books to track them all, but I figure I won't repeat if I buy the books as they are published. Omitting a prior publication date is a lie, pure & simple. The book was mildly entertaining nine years ago, but there is no way I wanted to purchase or read it a second time. and Zebra books are defrauding their customers by concealing the fact that this book was published years ago.
If I'm not mistaken, I skipped the other two in favor of going on to the Guardians series. Now I remember why I did so. This series is the Author's original series, and it's apparent that her skills increased greatly in her following Guardians series. This series, although not bad, isn't of the same caliber.
